When creating shipments in InventoryLab, you can choose between two different workflows: Pack First or Pack Last. Each option offers a different way to handle your inventory before it’s sent to Amazon.
Pack First
With Pack First, you start by boxing your items right after Find It. After everything is packed, Amazon provides placement options for where your shipments will go.
Best for: Sellers who prefer to organize and box their inventory upfront.
Why use it: Reduces confusion later, since items are already packed before reviewing shipment details.
Pack Last
With Pack Last, you first review Amazon’s placement options and shipping costs before packing. Once you’ve chosen the best option in Plan It, you can move to Box It and pack your inventory accordingly.
Best for: Sellers who want to compare costs and placement locations before committing to boxing items.
Why use it: Pack Last gives you more control by letting you evaluate shipping costs and destinations before boxing. It also allows you to print box labels at the box stage before loading items onto pallets, a major advantage for sellers handling LTL shipments, since it streamlines pallet prep and reduces rework.
Note: Pack Last is only available for LTL (Less Than Truckload) shipments.
