Issue: Rollo printer cannot be found
Cause: The properties for the printer may need to be adjusted or the driver may not be installed correctly.
Solution: Check the properties for the printer and perform an uninstall/reinstall to ensure that the print driver is completely installed if necessary.
If your Rollo printer is not showing up as an option to select when going through the steps to set it up in InventoryLab, it's possible that its properties may need to be adjusted as detailed below.
Navigate to your computer's Control Panel and click View devices and printers under the "Hardware and Sound" section.
Under the Security tab, check to make sure that permissions for Print, Manage this printer, and Manage documents are set to Allowed.
Re-run the IL Print Setup in InventoryLab under Settings>Print Settings>Set Up a Printer.
If these settings are already in place or don't seem to make a difference, try uninstalling and reinstalling the Rollo driver on your computer by following the steps below:
Navigate to your computer's Control Panel and click View devices and printers under the "Hardware and Sound" section.
Turn Off the Rollo printer and unplug it from your computer.
Download and reinstall the Rollo driver, located on Rollo's website here.
Once it's installed, navigate back to your Control Panel and click View Devices and Printers once more.
Plug in the Roller printer to your computer and turn it back On. It should show up again under the Printers section at this point.
Once you see the Rollo printer, you can right-click it to check its settings and make any needed changes (such as for Custom Label Sizes).
Re-run the IL Print Setup in InventoryLab under Settings>Print Settings>Set Up a Printer and try printing a test label.
Issue: Labels are not printing correctly
Cause: Reloading or switching between different label types without rerunning the level identification steps may cause labels not to print correctly.
Solution: Confirm the label type and re-run the automatic label identification with your Rollo printer to make sure it's reading the right label.
If your labels don't appear to be printing correctly, or you're getting blank labels in between, check to make sure the correct label type is selected in your InventoryLab print settings.
A list of supported label types can be found here- Set Up a Rollo Printer Using IL Print
For Windows, make sure you have set up a Rollo custom label to match the label preference you chose in InventoryLab - Create New Custom Size Labels
If that is not the issue, try re-running the automatic label identification with your Rollo printer to make sure it's reading the right label type by following these steps:
Unplug the printer USB from your computer.
Hold down that circle button on the printer until you hear a beep. It should go back and forth as it tries to learn your label.
Once done, plug the printer back into your computer. Check to make sure it is showing as online and ready to print.
Try to print a label from InventoryLab once more.
Steps to re-run the automatic label identification and a video showing this process can be found in this Rollo article.
If you find your labels are not printing clearly, are too dark, or too light, Rollo created a high-resolution driver which performs a series of file enhancements to improve the label clarity.
To install and use the high-resolution driver, see this support article from Rollo with detailed instructions:
