When a customer places an order on Amazon, it is immediately reflected in Seller Central as Ordered Product Sales. At this stage, the order is visible on your dashboard but has not yet been shipped.
InventoryLab records the sale once the order has officially shipped. At that point:
The sale appears in IL
The status is marked as estimated
This estimated status remains until Amazon completes its payment process.
Amazon’s DD+7 Payment Policy
Amazon does not release funds immediately after shipment. Instead, payments follow a Delivery Date + 7 days (DD+7) policy:
The order must first be delivered to the customer
Amazon then holds the funds for an additional 7 days
Only after this period are the funds released to you
Once funds are released, the order is included in Amazon’s settlement report (typically generated every two weeks). The order’s date is updated to reflect the payment release date, not the original order or shipment date. The finalized sale and accounting details are recorded in your Profit & Loss (P&L) based on this updated date.
